This is a collection of Viking myths, retold by Kevin Crossley Holland, about battles between Gods and monsters, the creation of the world, bargains and revenge. It's an anthology I suppose, and as in a lot of anthologies there were some stories I found more gripping than others. I preferred ones which were less predictable, there were some which were predictable enough to bore me. A lot of them feature Loki which is good as he is one of the more interesting Gods and I felt he was even tricking me at times. I would have liked to see more of Odin though…
