Julie' s Wolf Pack

by Jean Craighead George

HarperTrophy, 1997, 192 pages, ISBN 0 06 440721 7

How easy was it to get stuck into this book?
This story is a worthwhile read but it can be boring in places.

Who are the main characters?
The main characters are a pack of wolves. Their leader, who is Kapu, has to lead them through many perils and dangers. A young child called Julie also plays a part.

What's the storyline?
When the wolves in the area are being vaccinated against rabies, Kapu's pack let in a stranger who it turns out is infected. Luckily, it did not affect them but surrounding wolf packs suffered greatly.

How's it written?
The names in this story are a bit strange but it has no hard words.

Other books by the same author that Tim knows about?
This is the third book in the Julie series. The author has written loads more books.

The overall verdict is
Well worth a look

Shelly Taylor says "Jurassic Park is a bit boring at the beginning. If you have seen the film, there is a lot that happens before they even go to the island. But once this book gets going, BOY! does it get going!". It is about Alan Grant, a paleontologist, who is invited to an island with a "never before tried" theme park on it. He is invited by the founder of the company that built it, John Hammond. Along with fellow digger, paleobotanist Ellie Sattler, lawyer Gennaro and mathematician Ian Malcolm, he stupidly agrees to take a look at the island.
